Role Overview
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Permaculture Designer to lead the design and implementation of regenerative projects at TIEEDI.
The Role Blends:
- Landscape design
- Stakeholder engagement

You will design and execute ecological interventions such as:
- Forest gardens and food forests
- Natural building projects
- Holistic waste management systems
- River rejuvenation and land restoration
- Upcycling and circular economy solutions
Your work will span our forest garden, client projects, and community initiatives, ensuring that regenerative design principles guide everything we do.
Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead designer and implementor on all permaculture projects at TIEEDI.
- Oversee the full project lifecycle: site analysis, concept development, design planning, budgeting, execution, and monitoring.
- Deliver design and implementation of:
- Forest Gardens & Food Forests
- Holistic Waste Management Systems
- Natural Building Projects
- River Rejuvenation & Land Restoration
- Upcycling Initiatives at the Waste innovation Centre
- Collaborate with stakeholders including government bodies, educational institutions, youth organisations, and eco-conscious enterprises.
- Lead design components of internal projects (e.g. the Phoenix Dormitory).
- Contribute to internal knowledge building, documentation, and peer learning.
- Maintain strong data tracking, impact documentation, and reporting (Excel + other tools).
Key Result Areas (KRAs):
- Successful completion of at least one external project annually.
- Timely and high-quality delivery of the Phoenix Dormitory design and implementation.
- High client satisfaction measured by feedback and testimonials.
- Tangible before-and-after documentation of regenerative impacts.
- Internal capacity building workshops or walkthroughs (quarterly).
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of hands-on permaculture project implementation
- Certified in Permaculture Design (PDC).
- Additional certifications (natural building, water harvesting, ecological restoration) preferred.
- Experience engaging with diverse stakeholders (communities, institutions, govt.).
- Strong portfolio and/or client testimonials.
Skills & Mindset:
- Whole-systems thinking & design-based problem solving.
- Strong visualisation & communication of design concepts (sketches, CAD, software).
- Data-savvy — Excel, reporting, impact tracking.
- Balance of independence & teamwork.
- Deep alignment with Permaculture ethics: Earth Care, People Care, Fair Share.
- Commitment to a low-consumption, non-addictive lifestyle (preference for applicants off social media).
- Commitment to building the body as much as the mind.
