A BRIEF HISTORY OF TIEEDI

Tieedi is an environmental conservation organization based in Darjeeling, practicing permaculture the art of working with Mother Nature. Founded in 2016, our efforts focus on experiential environmental education, regenerative tourism, natural farming, decentralized waste management, and sustainable land and building design consultation.

Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of hosting travelers from all over the world, and we’re honored to be ranked as the No. 1 Specialty Lodging in Darjeeling on TripAdvisor. We also offer volunteer opportunities, where participants can learn about permaculture while contributing to one of our ongoing projects.

In the fight against the climate crisis, we see ourselves as frontline warriors, committed to providing practical, individual, and institutional solutions to the environmental challenges around us today.

Note From Our Founder

Hello.
Welcome to our forest garden!
What started as a personal venture of discovery 8 years ago has now evolved into a deeply spiritual adventure for all of us who are bonded to that the vision of Tieedi Pure Air, Fresh Water and Rich Soil for all beings.
We glad to note your interest in our rebellion against the status quo. A rebellion that is quite creatively disguised by the TIEEDI team as a gardening.

Our rebellion led us to reforesting a molested acre of land. Over 15000 sacks of plastic has been unearthed (literally) from this place that we now call our sacred forest, home, office, guest house and garden (there we go again!).
Our rebellion led us to innovate and implement community based solutions for the everyday waste management problems that we see around us. These unique solutions are now also being implemented in multiple places outside.
Our rebellion has given birth to natural dwellings that appear to have sprouted from a seed in a forest and are now shelters for travellers and volunteers from all corners of the world.

This journey has attracted and captured fellow misfits, square pegs who were struggling to fit into round holes and adventurers. They now identify themselves as TIEEDians and you will encounter these rebels as you get to know us better.
So write to us, call us or even better come stay with us as a volunteer / guest to rebel a little. We promise that you will go back with seeds of hope in your pockets and in your heart.
