Position: Project Manager
Projects & Base Locations:
- Zero Waste Andolan – North Bengal & Sikkim (Waste Innovation Centre, Darjeeling) – based in Darjeeling
- Zero Waste Andolan – Nalgonda, Telangana (Zero Waste Pilot Project) – based in Hyderabad
Reporting to: Project Head (TIEEDI)
Salary: ₹45,000 – ₹65,000 CTC per month (based on experience and base location)

About the Role:
TIEEDI invites passionate and driven individuals to take on a full-time leadership role in our Zero Waste Andolan (ZWA) — a powerful movement shaping the future of waste innovation in India.
As a Project Manager, you will lead operations in Darjeeling and Hyderabad, managing the Waste Innovation Centre at your base location and championing the Climate Action Leadership Programme in partnership with universities and colleges. This role carries end-to-end responsibility for planning, execution, and P&L of your centre.
Core Responsibilities:
Project Leadership & Delivery
- Develop and execute project workplans aligned with approved proposals.
- Ensure infrastructure, IEC, training, and monitoring deliverables are achieved on schedule and within budget.
- Own P&L responsibility for your base’s Waste Innovation Centre.
Team & Stakeholder Management
- Oversee setup and operation of waste management infrastructure (compost units, balers, shredders, etc.).
- Coordinate procurement, travel logistics, and ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and compliance standards.
Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting
- Track project indicators (waste diverted, trainings conducted, climate action participation, ecological outcomes).
- Maintain robust data systems and deliver high-quality reports (monthly, quarterly, final).
Financial Oversight
- Monitor budgets and expenditures against approved allocations.
- Collaborate with finance teams to ensure transparent, compliant financial tracking.
Qualifications & Experience
- Postgraduate degree in Environmental Studies, Development Studies, Social Work, Management, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of project management experience, including at least 1 year in waste management or sustainability initiatives.
- Proven ability to manage multi-stakeholder projects with financial accountability.
Language Requirements
- Common: Fluent in English and Hindi.
- Darjeeling-based candidate: Proficiency in Nepali and Bengali preferred.
- Hyderabad-based candidate: Proficiency in Telugu preferred.
